A Seminar on "Contemporary Issues of the Banking Industry of Bangladesh" Held in Prime University
A seminar entitled, "Contemporary Issues of the Banking Industry of Bangladesh" was organized by the Department of Business Administration with the collaboration of Centre for Research, HRD and Publications (CRHP), Prime University in the room no. 805 on 16 May 2018 at 3:00 PM.
Mr. Mohammed Nurul Amin, Advisor iPay Systems Limited, former President, Association of Bankers Bangladesh and former Managing Director of NCC Bank Ltd And Meghna Bank Ltd was the keynote speaker of the seminar.
The Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. M Abdus Sobhan graced the session as the Chief Guest while the Sr. Vice-Chairman of BOT Mr. Md. Ashraf Ali and the Vice Chairman Mr. Nrepen Maitra ornamented the program as the Guests of Honor and Prof. Dr. Jahangir Alam, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies chaired the program.
Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, Head, Department of Business Administration and Proctor of the University welcomed the guests and participants of the occasion.
In the session, the keynote speaker presented the overall landscape with major advancements and challenges of the industry. He highlighted that the good governance and the non-performing loans are the burning issues in the current banking sector. He stressed on ensuring the good governance and developing powerful security measures in the sector to protect the funds of the depositors in particular and the wealth of the nation at large.
